Romana V. says, "I have been Svetlana's student for many years and am forever appreciative of all the help I received in regards to Exam preparation and school work. She has helped prepare me for the AP calculus exam, the SAT (which I got 800/800 on), and was always willing to support me when I had trouble with school work. I always appreciated Svetlana's high expertise in the field as she is able to explain concepts in-depth, which helped me understand the origin of ideas, rather than just surface-level practice. Svetlana has taught me to enjoy math and always encouraged me to keep going when I was struggling. I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to work with such an amazing tutor who has helped me develop many skills in mathematics from a young age." Read more

Katie J. says, "Yuval is undoubtedly the best tutor I've ever worked with. I took Physics 2 (my hardest subject) at Columbia this spring. With Yuval's help over the course of the entire semester, I was able to score high As on every exam and a high A on the final. He goes above and beyond in every way. He was patient and responsive, worked to make himself available whenever I needed his help, and tailored his tutoring style to my needs. In addition, Yuval made videos outside of our time together to help me grasp topics I was struggling with. Without his help, I absolutely would not have been able to do nearly as well as I did. I have recommended him to everyone I know. If you are looking for a tutor that will blow you away with their intelligence, humor, and commitment to your success, Yuval is definitely your guy!" With a Master’s in CS and Math from the University of Washington and over a decade in the tech world. I’m passionate about helping high school kids who feel lost in subjects like Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, or Statistics—I’ve got a knack for turning confusion into ‘aha!’ moments. I also prep students for AP exams (AP Computer Science Principles and AP CSA) and tutor Chemistry and Biology, making tough topics click with clear, patient explanations. I prefer 1:1 sessions because I love tailoring my approach to each student, helping them boost grades and confidence. I’ve seen struggling kids light up when they

I help students who’ve never felt confident in math finally get it. I studied Electrical and Computer Engineering—earning my undergrad at the University of Washington and my master’s at Cornell—but what I really love is teaching. Whether you need help with school homework, tricky topics, or just want math to actually make sense, I’ve got you. I focus on breaking things down step by step, showing you why each part matters and how it connects to the real world. If you’ve ever said “I’m just not a math person,” you’re exactly who I love working with.

Reviews for Sammamish math tutors

Perhaps what I most appreciate about Carissa is that she’s not only been a good math tutor, but she gets along amazingly with my 15-year-old-grandson. He can be in a negative space when I pick him up from school, and he clearly perks up when he and Carissa are working together – I hear them laugh together often. There doesn’t seem to be any ‘superiority’ in the relationship although it’s clear that she’s won the respect of my grandson. Other things I also appreciate: she’s been highly reliable; she’s made every effort to accommodate and flex to meet our needs relative to schedules; she’s researched and recommended helpful resources; she’s been responsive when I’ve sent her messages; she’s been good about leeting us know if there a reason she needs to miss a session – and she always tries to make it up; she’s been willing to communicate with my grandson’s math teacher at school; and I should not fail to mention that I think her rates are quite reasonable. Carissa is able to be an effective tutor without standing on formality, and that not the impression I got from other math tutors I initially considered. I truly ENJOY seeing her every week, and I would highly recommend her to anyone!

If you are confused at all with math or are struggling, getting a tutor like Svetlana is one of the best decisions you will make. I learned more math than ever before with her. She is so nice and patient with answering questions and does a great job of explaining concepts. I honestly could not ask for a better tutor. Svetlana helped me improve my grades, and I had a great time learning Calculus with her.
