About
I love meeting new students and learning how to work with each person's unique learning style. I am a patient and understanding teacher which allows me to communicate large, complex subjects and provide a deep knowledge of the topic at hand to any learner. I have degrees in behavioral neuroscience, mathematics, and computer science so I can help you excel in any area of science you are studying.
Middle School students up through the Undergraduate level looking to get ahead in their studies will find my methods fun, friendly, and effective. At Yuval's Science Tutoring, we make sure that learning about science is a holistic experience; building connections between the disparate fields of science is important and we can guarantee a widening of your scientific literacy that will last.
I've been tutoring for about 4 years now and have worked with all kinds of students with many different learning styles. I pride myself on having flexible teaching methods and can explain the same concepts in many different ways. I genuinely think anyone can be proficient in the sciences and with my 1-on-1 sessions as well as real-time help through text or email any time (outside of scheduled sessions), I can help students achieve their goals in their studies.
I love talking about science and math! Watching students go from having no interest in these topics and thinking them to be boring or dry to showing a genuine curiosity and understanding is one of my greatest joys.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically I spend the first sessions getting to know the student and what they struggle with in terms of their thinking. I do this by trying to solve some problems with the student and seeing where their gaps in understanding lie. I try to focus our sessions on these gaps in understanding and "skip" over the things they are comfortable with. This means that we may not finish a whole problem if there is only one step the student is struggling with.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold two bachelor's degrees - one in Behavioral Neuroscience and another in Mathematics/Computer Science. Between these two degrees I have developed a wide understanding of the sciences and how they relate to one another. This makes my teaching style engaging and fun for many students since I connect the problem at hand with topics others often don't consider.
I have worked for 4 tutoring companies, each of which had their own standards and trainings. This has instilled me with teaching skills from many different teachers which I use regularly.
How did you get started teaching?
I've always helped my friends with their homework and when I got to college, I got a job at the university tutoring center helping students studying chemistry, biology, computer science, phyics, and mathematics.
