I love math. Since I learned my times tables at 5 years old I was hooked. I used to entertain the local deli owners at 8 years old by calculating the cost of the items l bought for my mom (including tax) in my head while they rang it up on the register. I taught math at the high school level for 6 1/2 years. In college I worked in the math lab as a tutor. I graded papers in college (including in classes I was taking at the time because my professor liked how I graded). I did review session for finals even in classes I was taking. I also worked for 3 summers as a tutor in a colle ... View Profile
During my time at Duke University, I was in many upper level and graduate level math classes. In addition to strong mechanical ability at mathematics, I have a very firm theoretical understanding of mathematical principles. If you want to not only improve grades but legitimately understand the principles behind mathematics, I believe my services will be ideal.

It's very important to me that a student leaves not only knowing how to get to the answer, but how to think clearly about the problem at hand and understanding the concepts deeply. I've thought a lot about what I've learned in math and science, both as a student and as a professional applying math in the real world, and seem to have developed a knack for giving clear words to what I cover, as my students tell me I make them very clear and really help them understand. I have helped over one hundred students, and look forward to helping more people learn. ... View Profile

Hi! My name's Michael and I went from special education to graduating with a Mathematics degree from Harvard University. I got 5s on 11 different Advanced Placement Tests, was a National AP Scholar, and in a matter of months, I brought up my own SAT score roughly 300 points. How did I do all that? The most helpful thing was surrounding myself with teachers and mentors, people who wanted me to succeed and helped me get to where I wanted to be. I want you to succeed, and I want to help you find where you want to be, and help you get there. Yes, I will help you with academic subject, but I will also help guide you to make the most of yourself an ... View Profile

My experience has been that 70% of the students i tutor did not fail math or have difficulty but fail because of lack of understanding fundamental basis in the math course. That's why i spend time focus on developing my students learning definion of approaching math solvi ... View Profile

It doesn't matter what your tutor scored on a test if they can't communicate the material to you in a way that works for each individual student. Ever since middle school, I have always had fellow classmates coming to me for help in math and science classes. I have been tutoring ever since. My tutoring style focuses on having a strong foundation and learning the basics, and growing from there. I help my students truly understand material, not just memorize it. I come from an engineering background, currently working for Procter and Gamble. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2017 with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics ... View Profile
