I have been tutoring students of all ages and abilities in Math, Reading, and Writing since I was in middle school. It was during this time that I learned I had a true knack and absolute love for tutoring. There is nothing more fulfilling to me as an educator than seeing my students not only succeed, but being confident in their ability to achieve their goals.  I believe that communiction between student and teacher is vital to success. By effectively communicating not only how to do something, but why, what it actually means, and how it applies to the world, students are better able to grasp difficult topics and see how they fit into th ... For my younger students (K-12) I offer a FREE online classroom to keep busy while school is out for the year. This helps students stay on task at home and helps relieve parents from having to form a curriculum. I post assignments every day that cover all common core topics, making them work throughout the day as they would in school! For my older students, I offer FREE help on days when we do not have a session scheduled. For example, if a student has a question on a certain problem in their homework, they are welcome to text or email me a picture of the problem and I do my best to help them through instructional videos. Basically, students d ... View Profile

I earned a BS in electrical engineering Magna cum laude from Florida International University and am currently working on my MS in electrical engineering with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As an undergraduate student I tutored other students up through calculus and was a Learning Assistant. My goal is to help students connect theoretical/academic concepts with real world application. By making this connection students will not only better understand the material better, but will also motivate students to want to learn more. I believe in the importance of STEM and its key ro ... STEM is the future; before I decided to pursue my first degree in engineering, I did not fully understand the extent to which STEM reaches into the fabric of our lives.  In college, I joined Phi Sigma Rho, National Sorority, an organization for women in STEM and technical studies, and fell in love with the work we did with the YWCA in Washington, D.C.  We tutored girls ages 6-17 in science, mathematics, and other technically based subjects.  Soon after, I branched out to become a tutor on my own with SpiderSmart Tutoring.  I was able to tutor young people from kindergarten through 12th grade in all school subjects, as well ... I went to Woodinville High School while doing Running Start as Cascadia Community College and graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Economics and a minor in Mathematics. I had many different kinds of teachers and learned several creative approaches to different subjects that made the material from each lesson enjoyable. I hope to follow the examples of these professional educators I admired and tailor each tutoring experience to what the student needs to better their education. My tutoring experience has been limited, but rewarding. I began tutoring in middle school with elementary students needing help with r ... View Profile
