What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Understand where they are in understanding, what is it they are having to mosyt problems with, and working together to find ways around that.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BS in Math. I have taught math and Algebra to college students who mostly hate math but must take math classes to get their degrees.
I have also worked in classes from pre-school through college.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $40 per 1 hour session.
How did you get started teaching?
Always wanted to teach. Really decided in 9th grade when I fell in love with Algebra.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many ADHD and dyslexic students. Also neurotypical students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a call from a mom in tears that her son was failing in Algebra.
When I meet him, he couldn't look at me. He thought he was stupid.
Once we started and I took him through different ways of solving the problems he was doing better. The second meeting, he was all smiles. He understood the assignments. His grade went from a 27% to passing his class with a C in 6 weeks.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Can I work with this person? Can I communicate with them?
Do I really want to learn and pass my class or test or whatever the reason you are looking for help.
