Early College Student Tutoring
About
I have a passion for helping others learn and know a variety of subjects to teach! I'm not a professional, as this is more of a hobby but I will do my best to help you learn! I am pretty knowledgeable in English/Writing, Math, Music and Theatre; and I know a fair amount about Biology, specifically Physiology and Anatomy. I can also help with organizational skills!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ususally like to ask what the student needs help with and what they are looking for in a tutor, and then we can form a schedule and a plan that suits them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a high school student, but I am a dual-enrollment student. I feel confident tutoring grades K-8 and I can help with college math, writing and biology (physiology and anatomy). I have also played the clarinet for 5+ years so I can tutor in that area, with some knowledge in acting/improv acting as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
For areas like Writing/English, Math, Biology, and those alike I'll be charging $35/hr.
For clarinet lessons I'll be charging $20 per 30-minute lesson for beginners, and $30 per 30-minute lesson for intermediate players.
For help with acting and improv I'll be charging $25 per 30-minute lesson.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with young kids (between kindergarten and grade 6) and I have also tutored adults from Portland Community College.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say to ask for help with organizational skills and study habits, alongside regular tutoring. Think about if you have trouble taking notes, remembering due dates, etc., because these can also help with better grades!
