Next Step Learning is a Michiana-based organization with a passion for helping students who struggle with reading and math. Our research-based programs are delivered by instructors who are patient, experienced, enthusiastic and fun. We build programs tailored to fit students' individual needs and learning styles. In just a few months, our students make multiple grade level jumps in reading and math.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
After performing a set of assessments that include all of the major benchmark tests of reading, comprehension, and math, we schedule a meeting to go through the scores with parents, and to recommend a program tailored to a student's individual needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Co-founder Michael Busk has a PhD in English and over 20 years experience teaching and tutoring.
Co-founder Peter Staffelbach worked as a manager for the organization that developed our programs.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our price for sessions is $75/hour. Assessments are $200.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with many students with specific diagnoses, such as ADD/ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and developmental delays We also work with many students without a diagnosis who still struggle in reading and math.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask a potential teacher/tutor about their program and process, and ask them what quantifiable results they can show. For instance, the person who most recently finished our math program jumped 4 grade levels in a matter of months.
