About this tutor

I am experienced and put my all into creating a great learning experience for my clients. I try to get an understanding of their needs and find creative ways to help them. My goal is that my students are successful and improve with each lesson. If they put in the work and listen to my instructions, there will be results.

I love helping people to get better and see the smiles on their faces when they learn something new.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to get to know each student and assess their learning style. I take that into account when teaching them in order to make the material more relatable. I work on their weaknesses and help them become stronger in those areas.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have training working with students ages 3-16. I am an experienced virtual classroom teacher. I have also volunteered as a tutor for elementary students in the past.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

The rate depends on the needs of the student. I make my prices fair and try to work with each client the best I can.

How did you get started teaching?

I got started teaching as a volunteer for an organization. I tutored young students and helped them with homework. I started to teach professionally a few years back and I love it.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students that struggle with reading and those that do not speak English. They ranged in ages from 2-16 years old.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I recently assisted in a charity event for young children, where they were able to paint and have fun. With the pandemic keeping everyone quarantined inside, it was nice to see them have fun and enjoy themselves.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I would say find someone who understands the needs of your child. Not every tutor will connect with your child or be able to make an impact on their education. The goal is the success of your child.

1.) What is my learning style?

A. visual- learn by seeing

B. auditory- learn by hearing

C. kinesthetic- hands-on learning

D. writing/reading- learn by writing things down or through reading

2.) How do I remember the material?

(ex: repetition, quizzes, flashcards, etc.)

3.) What does the teacher do that keeps me engaged?

(singing, movies, references to relatable events/things)

4.) What is my favorite/easiest subject and why?

5.) What annoys me the most about class and makes it hard for me to learn?

(ex: long reading, no breaks, no pictures, etc.)

6.) What do I struggle with the most in school?

(ex: remembering things, reading, critical thinking, etc.)

7.) What qualities do I like in a teacher? (fun, kind, patient, bubbly, calm, etc.)
