Patsie G. says, "Ms Paula is great at getting my son to participate with areas that frustrate him. She is more than a tutor she is becoming a great friend. My son enjoys seeing her and he struggles to get along with new people. If you have a nuerodivergent child she is great. My son is considered high functioning but with his anxiety that's a matter of opinion. However since working with Ms Paula he has grown more confident!" Read more

I’ve recently started branching out into helping tutor kids with mostly reading, writing and language but I also like teaching science (actually I love it bc I like sparking interests in young minds) , and also history (especially World War Two is a major topic for me). When I was a child my great grandmother raised me and read alot and every week we would go to the library and by third grade I was choosing three novels to read for the week. I truly thank her for sparking my interest in reading and writing and Making all aspects of the English language second nature to me. That ranges from punctuation, to spelling, story structure and a very s

I've taught English as a Foreign or Second Language for many years on three continents. I love working with people from other cultures, and will give you all the help you need and the respect you deserve. I tailor my sessions to you, and go as slowly as you want. I speak French, some Spanish, as well as basic Arabic, so understand your difficulties if you're from any of these linguistic or related backgrounds. I also work on improving your American accent so that you speak with more confidence as well as understand us Americans better in movies and when we're in conversation....

I have been teaching children to read for 20 years, specializing in the teaching of beginning reading skills. Most of my classroom teaching years have been spent in the Kindergarten classroom, although I have taught 1st grade & 3rd grade, as well. Currently, my work has brought me to train other teachers to help develop their own readers. During my years in the classroom, I found that although some students met expectations for going on to 1st grade from Kindergarten, they just weren't strong enough as readers to sustain in 1st grade. I offer summer tutoring for Kindergarten students with low reading achievement, whether they are moving o...

My son, Ryan, is 22 years old and has a learning disorder. I hired Jennifer Young from Seeds of Knowledge to tutor Ryan on the DMV handbook in preparation for the written DMV test. Jennifer was very patient and came up with some creative teaching methods such as drawing out certain traffic situations and using a vocabulary list to learn and understand DMV terms. I highly recommend Jennifer for all types of tutoring as she is excellent at explaining concepts and making sure the student understands before moving on.

What a blessing our beloved "Miss Trish," as our girls called her, has been to our family this year. We had made the decision to enroll our girls (4th & 2nd Grade) in the virtual school program for the 2020-2021 academic year. With parents working full-time from home, we realized that an instrumental part of making this plan work involved hiring a Learning Coach to keep the girls on task with their assignments, and to help guide them through their learning. Trish came to us in the middle of the school year after our initial Learning Coach had a family emergency requiring her to leave, and completed the 3rd and 4th Quarters. The girls love her. She is patient, kind, reliable, organized, and clearly has a love for being around children. Whenever we need childcare, she will be the first name on our list, and we would highly recommend her to anyone. As a result of her effort, both girls got Principal's Honor Roll, and we couldn't be more proud of them! Thank you, Trish!
