What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First session is all about getting to know the student! I want to find out what their interests are and dislikes, what they love about school and learning, and what are some things that might make them feel frustrated or confused! That way moving forward, I am prepared on how to connect with the student and engage them, and I can learn about their strengths and needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a full time first grade teacher for students with autism, but have experience working with students in 1st-8th grade both in general education settings or in special education settings!
