Hello!
My name is Lauren Cassidy and I am about to finish my first year of teaching. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and I have learned so much over the past several months. Most importantly being that kids who practice reading and writing more in their early developmental stages tend to become fluent readers faster. If there is anyway I can help out in that, then I would love to! Also, I have learned that practice is key, and that it is important to take the time and work with each kid one-on-one to truly find out the best way to help them. I strive to ensure happiness and success in anyone I may help, and I would be glad to do that for your child as well.

I love working with students because I love working towards a goal and being able to see progress. It is also very nice to see kids become so proud of themselves after knowing they worked hard towards something and achieved it because of that determination!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I like to figure out where they stand and what they need to work on most. After that, we work hard towards ensuring that we see progress towards our goals.
Depending on what a student needs help with, I will use activities, white boards, interactive stories, games, task cards, and much more. Either way, it will be designed to help your student close an achievement gap, all while having fun achieving and working hard for an important goal.
Also, I will make sure to occasionally formally assess my students so that I can keep track of their progress, then I will use that date to alter my instruction to ensure I am ways helping them reach their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am almost done with my first year of Teaching. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, and I have been in the classroom, practicing for my career, for at least 5 years now.

25$ an hour, will vary depending on subject and grade level
How did you get started teaching?
I initially when into teaching because I wanted to be not only a person who helps others but to he the person I needed when I was younger.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with quite a range of students, and it has only taught me more than I could ever know. More importantly, that every student needs their own individualized help because every student is so different from the next.
