About
Anyone who has ever met me has suggested that I become a teacher. I’ve always had a very logical response: “No, I would rather not spend the rest of my life in a school.”. Now I have spent several years working as a substitute for our local school district, tutoring students and teaching in a preschool. I am so happy to help students succeed and I have found the greatest successes come when students are met where they are academically. When students have access to individual guidance and teaching that suits their learning style they are more likely to not only absorb new information, but retain it and understand better what they are learning. My goal as a tutor is to help students with what they are directly struggling with and giving an opportunity to foster their own independence in learning. Tutoring is about accountability and can not replace independent learning and the desire to learn.
