About
I have a PhD in Higher Education and was a professor of Higher Education for six years before starting my own tutoring agency. I am an expert in human learning, instructional strategies, and preparing students for their future.
I work with K-20 students on reading, comprehension, and writing support. While is may seem like a large span of ages to help, the underpinning instructional strategies and logic is the same for all humans, regardless of age. My services stand out in that I prepare students of all ages, K-20, for the type of writing and logic used in college and professional careers.
During my Masters and Doctoral degrees my research focused on how the social environment and instructional strategies can complement the biological processes of human learning. It is these techniques and cutting edge research that I apply when working with all my K-12 students.
What I enjoy most about my work is seeing my students learn during the course of individual instruction. When I guided my doctoral students through their dissertation, I loved to see how they learned and applied academic logic and writing format to the content they studied. The difference with my instructional format is my students they learned information in the way experts see the world. It is a very specific and precise way to think, but a person who learns to think this way will be prepared for success in both their academic and adult life.
While I still work with undergraduate and graduate students, I want to bring this type of logic and writing to K-12 students so they may get better grades in schools while being well prepared for college.
