About

As a rising high school senior, I can provide a unique perspective into the daily life and learning styles of students of all ages, abilities, and experiences. I've completed all levels of mathematics up to and including AP Calculus BC. Additionally, I've competed in and won several mathematics competitions in the state of Washington. My passion for mathematics has led me to this stage in my learning career and I'd love to share my experience and knowledge with future students. Additionally, from the young age of 5, I've played competitive chess at the state and national levels. The intricacies and complexities of chess have allowed me to find efficient methods of learning math all the while making my way to a state championship and a finished rating of 1568. If desired I'd additionally be willing to tutor chess to any interested students.

As early as 1st grade I've been studying math 3 grade levels higher than my peers. I've learned at a steep curve for my entire academic career, and have found the best and worst parts of mathematics education in school. I'm happy to teach and help future students with the subject I've grown through for years. Having inspiring teachers that made my academic journey easier through incredible learning techniques, I've been able to integrate the best methods of explaining complex ideas into my own teaching style. This includes adapting to modern day problems like the global pandemic we're all struggling through. I am proficient in Zoom and Microsoft Teams and would happily help any students who would prefer an online learning format to maintain maximum safety.

    Frequently asked questions

As a rising senior in High School I've completed all levels of middle school and high school math up to and including AP Calculus BC studying 3 levels above my grade level each year. I've won several math competitions along the way helping me learn how math is taught to students as well as how to help students when it doesn't make sense. I hope to use this inside perspective into the learning process to help my fellow students progress in math.

$25 an hour is the base rate for all customers. This encompasses any and all subjects being studied, as well as any scheduling of sessions. I accept payment in all forms, and prefer to be payed either at the beginning or conclusion of each session.

I'd advise any student looking for a tutor to consider the two aspects of their learning. They not only need someone with a deep understanding of the material being studied, but also the ability of the tutor to explain the subject to them. Most schoolteachers have a solid base of knowledge in their subject area, but an ability to better understand the material comes from unique teaching methods. Learning from someone who's learned and lived through what students are doing makes it much easier to learn and retain material.
