With 5+ years of experience in teaching, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a diploma in Accounting, I am highly qualified to help you excel in your next challenge. I offer guided lessons with practice exercises and small projects, or one-on-one time for you to ask questions and work on problems, or a mix of two. I am happy to discuss and make a plan that is well-suited to your learning.
I enjoy interacting with young, inquisitive minds, answering their questions, working with them until they have overcome their struggles and learning their new ideas. In the 5+ years that I have been teaching, there is no better feeling than the AHA moment, when my student's eyes light up and I can see that my efforts in helping them understand a concept have succeeded. My goal as a teacher is to convince my students to be as passionate about the subject as I am. I will work diligently for hours on each student to achieve this goal.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I spend some time understanding the needs of my student, their questions and their goals. With that information, I will recommend my approach which might include,
- guided lessons, with practice exercises modified to the student's level.
- Q/A session, typically for working through a project, assignment, test, etc.
- a combination of the above.

How did you get started teaching?
Soon after I finished high school, my friend from grade 9 requested me to help her with Calculus a few times each week. In university, I worked as a teaching assistant for several computer science and math courses for 4 years. In this role, I worked one-on-one with several students to answer their questions, help them with their projects and tests. I also was responsible for leading tutorials and designing projects so I will use my experience in that to create guided lessons for you.
