About this tutor

I specialize in tutoring in upper-level mathematics. Starting from AP Calculus, mathematics starts to get more conceptual rather than computational. Students start to learn that math is not concrete but rather fluid in this hazy gray area. By doing a degree in mathematics at the University of Washington, I have many years of experience in tutoring math and explaining hard concepts in a simple manner. I do not only want my students to learn how to get the answer but really understand the mathematical machinery behind their answer and see how each component worked to help them get there.

Ever since senior year in high school, I have been very passionate about math and education. I have always done peer tutoring throughout my academic career and met wonderful instructors and mentors throughout my life. With a difficult and abstract subject like math, it is always satisfying in seeing my students understand the material and realizing that it wasn't so bad after all.

Fellow UW student and friend, helped me a lot with the general calculus (124,125,126) series and other math classes (Differential Equations, Linear Algebra). Very passionate about math and could talk about math with you for hours. Would highly recommend! You'll learn a lot more than just what you need for your class/test.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics at the University of Washington Seattle. I have gotten a deep and fundamental education in general calculus up to multivariable and vector/tensor. Furthermore, I have experience in teaching differential equations, linear algebra, and introductory real analysis.

Furthermore, I have been tutoring mathematics for over five years now. Starting in high school, I have been part of the peer tutoring program after school and doing small private tutoring lessons. After completing high school, I started tutoring SAT Math and the SAT Math subject tests for multiple students.

Additional Qualifications:

AP Calculus AB Score: 5/5

SAT Math Score: 800/800

SAT II Math Subject: 780/800

University of Washington's Calculus GPA: 4.0

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I want my students to be motivated and have a willingness to learn. Math is something that cannot be learned through watching. You can only improve in math through practice and the student must be willing to practice along with their tutoring to improve.
