My name is Becky Jensen, and I’m a professional certificated teacher with a master’s in teaching and over two decades of classroom experience. I offer individualized academic support in reading, writing, math, social studies, and ELA for students from early elementary through middle school including those with learning challenges such as dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety, or ASD.
Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of learners including younger students beginning to develop foundational academic skills and older students preparing for middle school or high school coursework. My approach to tutoring is always custom tailored to each student: I assess each student’s strengths, needs, and learning profile and then shape the learning plans to meet each student exactly where they are. My goal is to help every student experience meaningful academic progress in all needed areas including confidence, independence, and clarity of thought. I take care to provide structure, warmth, and predictability in each session, and I communicate closely with families to ensure progress is visible and sustained.
Since earning my master’s degree in 2001, I have taught in public school classrooms and I have extensive experience in early literacy instruction, science-based reading strategies, and integrated ELA learning. My training includes professional development in the Science of Reading (SOR), UFLI, Secret Stories, and structured small-group reading methods.

• Reading (phonics, fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and small-group reading)
• Writing (grammar, sentence structure, spelling, and foundational composition)
• Math (number sense, problem-solving, standard algorithm, and Common Core strategies)
• Social Studies and interdisciplinary projects
• ELA test prep and organizational coaching
• Support for students with ADHD, dyslexia, ASD, and other learning needs
Tutoring Details:
• Hourly rate: $60 per hour
• Weekday and weekend availability (after school and early evening)
• Payment accepted via Zelle, Venmo, or check
• Free parent consultation by phone or Zoom/Teams
