I want to get to know the student's interests and passions so that I can make sure to include these within out tutoring sessions. I have worked with a lot of different personality types and subjects through substitute teaching Elementary and Middle School students. I am also very familiar with online tutoring through my experience as a 2nd grade virtual teacher. It is important to me that I find the student's interests so I can make what they are learning relatable to their real life. I also want to show them the importance of what they are learning. I have learned a lot through earning my degrees in Elementary Edicafion and Middle Level Mathematics. I have also learned a lot of fun techniques to help students learn through my Master of Education in Learning and Technology.
I enjoy getting to know who my students are so that I can connect what they are learning to their lives. I think it is very important that students find purpose and importance in what they are learning. I also enjoy making learning fun and not frustrating. I love when I help students understand topics that they are struggling with and show them that they can succeed in anything they put their mind it. I will be their biggest cheerleader while learning new and complicated things.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to meet with my new students and discuss their needs as wel as the best way they learn. We will work together and adapt to their specific needs as we go.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Washington State Teaching Certificate. My degree is Elementary Educaiton and Middle Level Mathematics. I have my Master's of Educaiton in Learning and Technology.

I like to discuss the student’s specific needs and concerns before deciding on the final price. My prices start at $40 an hour for in person tutoring sessions and $30 an hour for an online tutoring session.
How did you get started teaching?
I always knew I watned to be a teacher. After getting my teaching certificate and my masters I began substitute teaching from grades K-10 around the Spokane area as well. I took a job as a second grade teacher in the Bellevue School district which I am currently doing. I also taught English online to students who live in China last summer. Teaching is my passion and I love helping people learn and understand material that may be difficult for them.

I currently am a 2nd grade teacher in the Bellevue School District. I also have substitute taught from grades K-10. During my undergraduate and graduate degree I specifically worked with Elementary students in all subjects and Middle School students with math.
