I have a master's degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Utah. I completed my undergraduate degree in mathematics and biology at Dartmouth College in 2016 magna cum laude. I tutored, TA-ed, and graded for several math courses while at Dartmouth, including for Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Introduction to Applied Mathematics. At the U I have taught all levels of Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations and have also spent time volunteering in the campus math tutoring center. I have experience both writing and grading college-level homework and exam problems for several different math courses. I am confident in tutoring students in any elementary, middle school, or high school math courses as well as most undergraduate and many graduate math courses, both pure and applied.
I enjoy helping students discover and understand the mathematical properties that underlie everything in our world. It's exciting when you realize how accurately so many complicated real-world phenomena can be modeled with relatively simple mathematics. More specifically, I enjoy helping students to realize that math is really about problem solving rather than memorizing equations. Mathematics is an excellent place to gain problem-solving skills that can be extremely beneficial in a wide variety of fields. There are a lot of mental and emotional hurdles that many students run into when trying to learn about math; I enjoy trying to break those down and helps students see that math is not an impossible task, but something they can succeed in.
