About

I am a Texas State certified Reading and writing teacher who has been teaching middle school writing for 13 years, and I have loved every moment of it. From Narrative, to Argumentative to Informational Writing I guide scholars in exploring topics in writing based off their interests and experiences.

I know what misconceptions scholars face on a daily basis when it comes to writing and understand how to help clear them up.

In addition to making writing enjoyable, I instill a passion for writing within all students that I teach. Students leave me not only understanding skills and concepts that will not only prepare them for college, but also last them for the rest of their lives.

Your scholar's work is what drives my instruction, and I adjust my teaching and pace based off of how your scholar is processing the information, which is intuitive to their learning.

    Frequently asked questions

Initially, I love to build a relationship with the student by understanding their own personal interests, goals and beliefs in general about life. After that, I tap into their personal struggles they have when it comes to reading and writing, I like for students to create a timeline for me to get a better understanding of their struggle. I then use this information to help build a curriculum to fit their own personal need.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a Minor in English/Language Arts, and hold a MED in administration. I have been teaching reading and writing in Carrollton-Farmer's Branch ISD for 13 years.

Growing in a house where my father was a teacher, I saw his devotedness, and passion towards helping others gain knowledge. Knowledge is extremely important to me, and I to have the passion to share it with others.

I have worked with many types of students throughout my career in teaching. Those with dyslexia, learning disabilities, and those who have struggles with the English Language to those who are gifted and talented.

The biggest advice I would give to a student is to be open and honest about their true struggles and understand that with me it's a judge free zone. All feedback given is to help improve in the areas they wish to improve in when it comes to writing and reading.
