I love to teach and excite students in whatever they are learning. I began teaching in public schools when I was 22. I taught 3rd and 4th graders for 11 years in all subjects. I then stopped teaching when I had my first child. However, my children were homeschooled and I taught many different types of classes in a homeschool co-op. My main focus is on elementary age students in all subjects. However, if you have a group of students who would like me to teach a mini science class, I can do all ages! I enjoy coming up with new ways to teach a lesson, and I am passionate about my students.

As a biology graduate, I have developed a strong passion for understanding how living systems work and for helping others make sense of complex scientific concepts. Through my coursework, I have built a solid foundation in topics such as cell biology, genetics, and human anatomy, while also learning the importance of clear communication and critical thinking. I am eager to apply my knowledge as a tutor, not only to reinforce my own understanding but to support students in gaining confidence and clarity in biology and stem subjects. I am a Texas State certified Reading and writing teacher who has been teaching middle school writing for 13 years, and I have loved every moment of it. From Narrative, to Argumentative to Informational Writing I guide scholars in exploring topics in writing based off their interests and experiences. I know what misconceptions scholars face on a daily basis when it comes to writing and understand how to help clear them up. I have 3 years of English teaching in Plano and McKinney ISD. I have my M.A. in Psychology from NYU and I am finishing my M.A. in English.

I have spent the last four years teaching in the public education system where I received a Master Designation from the Texas Education Agency for my outstanding teaching skills. I am certified in both Texas and Oklahoma as an educator for Early Childhood through Eighth Grade education with an emphasis on the Science of Teaching Reading. In addition to my teaching experience, I have also tutored multiple students in a variety of ways from 2016 til now, my most recent student being a homeschooled senior learning Geometry in which we utilized Zoom to meet.
