About
I graduated as a Phi Beta Kappa honors student from Lewis & Clark College in Biology and a focus in mathematics. My passion for teaching comes from my desire to share my curiosity and my love for learning. As a teaching assistant for college-level biology and math students for 2 years, I enjoyed sharing my knowledge and excitement for STEM concepts. I have additionally tutored middle school math and elementary school reading and writing. Through these tutoring experiences, I know that students use and respond to different teaching strategies and I am passionate about discovering the best learning approaches for the student by bringing fun and creative learning activities and games so every session. As an outdoor leader and a community sports organizer, I love to incorporate exercise and exploration of the natural world into teaching and tutoring. I am excited to share and explore learning with your student, helping them succeed, expand their love for learning, and find the fun in online or modified school. I acknowledge the trust it takes to invite a new person in your home, so I know how important it is for me to adhere to safe COVID practices like wearing a face mask and practicing social distancing. I am ready to bring energy, patience, and creativity to your child's day and learning!
I enjoy finding the best learning strategies for each student. I want students to enjoy and excel in each subject I find that learning and school are the most fun for students when they are confident and excited to learn which comes from good tutoring and a well-rounded understanding of the material. I am excited to help students find the right academic path for their learning. I find it inspiring when a concept finally "clicks" for a student and I am able to help them through this understanding process. I find that I especially enjoy tutoring math and science courses because it takes time, patience, and creativity for each unique learning. I enjoy finding the right teaching methods that work best for each student.
