About

I love helping children learn to read and learn math skills necessary to be successful in life. I believe children learn by having fun, so I include a variety of fun, but educational games during lessons. I have taught third grade for ten years, but am staying home with our little one. So I'm looking for ways to help struggling children succeed while staying home with him.

Frequently asked questions

I have created assessments that I use as a quick guide to evaluate what the student needs the most help in. I do this for half of our first session, the other half is getting to know your child and play a few educational games. I also request copies of any school test scores and current report cards to help with my assessment. Notes or recommendations from the classroom teacher are very helpful as well.

Master's Degree in Reading and Literacy

Tutored on my on for the past 5 years as well as tutored with my school as a teacher for 10 years!

Tutored with Cuyahoga County Public Library for one year five days a week for 3 hours a day.

I charge $50/hour.

If the distance is more than 12 miles one way I will charge more as I have to travel further with gas prices.

I'm open to tutoring virtually as well, $40/hour for 2nd through 12th grade, $50/hour for prek through 1st as it takes more planning for the younger children making it as hands on as I can for them to learn best.

I started within 6 months after graduation at a charter school (Constellation Schools- Westpark Community Elementary in Cleveland, Ohio) with hopes of moving to a public school. But I fell in love with my colleages and families in the school so I didn't push as hard to find a public school position. I am here for the children and want them to be as successful as they can be as they grow.

Working in an urban city charter school I worked with a very diverse population. I have my Masters Degree so I was able to teach students who struggled with reading as the third grade guarantee required. I often had students with special needs/educational services placed in my classroom.

The most recent event we attended was a Touch a Truck at a local park in North Ridgeville. It was a very fun filled family day. The drivers of all the trucks were very friendly and informative, showing the kids how the their truck worked.

Look up their profiles and websites and read reviews from current or past clients. Talk to the teacher about their educational background and knowledge. Ask if they plan fun but educational activities for you to do. Remember learnig should always be fun!
