How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching at my highschool and helped tutor some of my close friends. After this, I moved on to teaching students outside of my school district. I continued doing this up to college and now I am continuing tutoring in college as well.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with hundreds of students and have taught all subjects that I feel comfortable teaching. If I feel rusty on any subject, I will not be able to teach it. I need to make sure that I am 100% sure about my ability in different subjects.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am part of 2 sports teams at college. I am also part of 6 clubs at college. I work with students age K-11 and want to be the best recource to them.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell them to make sure to find a tutor who they have a connection with. It is hard learning from someone who may seem strict or pushy. Make sure you can build a bond with your tutor and if the first one doesn't work out, feel free to open your boundries.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What they are truly passionate about and what they need help with. Also I would want my student to show me how they have been learning in the past and possibly if I could give them suggestions for how to make their learning strategies even better.
