I have been helping students find their writing and speaking voices since 1989 in English and in Russian. My approach is to meet students where they are and to help them build confidence toward being prepared and poised in either language.
Students will gain confidence in their speaking and writing abilities in English or in Russian within a few sessions or throughout the academic year. The goal is to help them grow into their natural abilities in these languages.
It's great when students realize they have grown in their skills or when they receive an award for using those skills outside the classroom.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I find out where a student is having difficulty, then guide them through the steps that will lead them to a more positive outcome with their reading, writing, and speaking skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught Secondary English and all levels of Russian for 19+ years at Montgomery County Public Schools. Prior to this, I taught overseas for the United States Peace Corps at the university level. My training has come through Johns Hopkins University and many professional development workshops.
