Welcome, I’m Mary! I am a college graduate with a Bachelor’s degree from St. John Fisher in Elementary Education with a minor in English. Currently, I am a Substitute Teacher for the Webster School District and have been since 2018. I love being in the classroom teaching and working with Elementary students whole group and small group learning. My experience is tutoring Elementary students with math, reading, and writing skills. I prefer to tutor grades K-5 since my expertise in the subjects are at the Elementary level.

I used to be terrible at math, actually! One amazing professor in my first year of college turned math around for me. Most people are capable of learning anything, and just need the right help. I think I stand out because I like to help other people learn from the perspective of someone who had a really hard time with math for a long time. I ended up being a TA for calculus the semester after I finished the class in college and loved it. If I can do it, anyone can! I enjoy helping people that getting better at math is a challenge they can definitely overcome.

I am a recent graduate from Furman University and am now obtaining my Master’s degree at the University of Rochester. I have studied both Voice Performance and German. I'm a high school senior fluent in both English and German. I earned a perfect score on the AP German exam and a 1580 SAT. I also earned 5s on the following AP exams: Statistics, European History, U.S. History, English Language and Composition, Chemistry.
