David’s Math Tutoring
About
I create a one-on-one learning opportunity typically geared towards middle school and high school level mathematics. I've always had a passion for solving math problems because I'm a very logical person. I like having a problem in front of me and then finding out what the answer to that problem is. I've helped many friends and family study for homeworks, quizzes, and finals up to College Pre-Calculus.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to go over what their background in mathematics is and see what fundamentals they have already mastered. Then, I go over what material they're learning now and see what they understand from what they're being taught. From there, we can begin to practice on fine-tuning skills in order to fully understand what is necessary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an engineering student in New Mexico. Engineering has lots of math intense coursework so I can definitely say I've mastered basic algebra up to about beginning calculus.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard price is $20/hr.
How did you get started teaching?
I've always excelled at math and for that reason many friends have asked for help so over the years I've tutored at lease a dozen friends or family members.
What types of students have you worked with?
I mainly work with high school students but I can work with as high as college level algebra.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say to find someone who is qualified. I've gotten help from tutors before that don't even understand the material themselves which can be very disheartening.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would try to find strengths and weaknesses about their learning. For example if you really like seeing something then bring that up to your teacher, or if you are more of an auditory learner, then that would also be something to discuss with your teacher.
