Homework Help And Study Skills
About
Hi, my name is Lindsey! I am 32-year-old special education teacher. My husband and I have a very active, fun-loving, soon-to-be two years old son. I am hoping to fill in some after school and weekend hours with tutoring opportunities. I have worked as a special education teacher in the public school setting for 9 years. I began my career working in a middle school and later transitioned to the elementary/early childhood level where I love opportunities to help students become independent members of the classroom community! In addition, I have had the opportunity to work with high school students, specifically in the area of organization and study skills. While attending both undergrad and graduate school, I also worked as a nanny for a few different families with elementary-aged children. During my free time (if there is such a thing!), I love crossfit and spending time with my husband and our dog, Penny!
I love seeing students surpass previously set expectations. I also take joy in watching students grow into confident learners who want to be active members of their classroom and community!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Prior to working with a student, I always communicate with parents/guardians about long-term goals, strengths, and weaknesses. I also want to know about students’ interests and motivations. During our first few sessions together I take extra time to get to know a student and how they learn best. I make sure I made available for any questions students have about me and my family experience as well!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors degree in Special Education and a Masters degree in Education of the deaf and hard of hearing. I am licensed to teacher students in pre-K-12 in Massachusetts.
