Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, it is important to understand how a student learns best. I then create a plan to teach according to their learning type, and ask multiple questions to ensure they get a grasp on how to complete their work. I will usually follow up with my own set of equations over the material to determine where they may still be struggling so we can then go further into that.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a highschool diploma, in which I graduated with all A's with advanced classes.
I am currently over halfway to receiving my bachelor's degree in mathematics for secondary education, where I hold a 4.0 GPA. Additionally, I am currently a math teacher at a non-profit, Kansel, specializing in helping those trying to obtain their GED's.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is negotiable depending on the time spent, the needs of your child, and affordability.
How did you get started teaching?
Ever since I was a child I loved helping others. When I continued to be at the top of my class in almost all subjects, I began to help my classmates better understand information the teacher would provide. From there I knew I wanted to be a teacher, and would love to teach and help whoever I can while pursuing my degree. Currently I have began teaching as a math teacher at Kansel, helping people at all levels and ages develop their skills so they can obtain their GED's.
