About
Between my father and I, we have over 50 years in education, teaching middle school through graduate school. My father has a Master's Degree in Mathematics and I have both a Master's Degree and a Doctorate in Education as well as my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Education. In addition to mathematics tutoring services, we are also able to provide diagnostic services to students struggling in mathematics.
Now that my dad has retired, he enjoys continuing to help students as a math tutor on a part-time basis. Since my full-time position doesn't allow me the opportunity to work with students on an individual basis, providing tutoring and diagnostic services that are able to be individualized is fulfilling to me.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With the majority of new students, I begin with some simple diagnostics to determine their general math aptitude and level of current achievement; we then create an individualized plan to meet the math goals of the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My dad and I each have over 25 years working in education. He has his Master's Degree in Mathematics and is retired from a career that included teaching up through college mathematics. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Education as well as my Master's Degree and Doctorate in Education; I have taught middle school through college mathematics as well as graduate-level education courses.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The base cost is $38 for a 45 minute session with up to a 20% discount for multiple sessions.
How did you get started teaching?
I come from a family of teachers; both of my parents were teachers (my dad is now retired and helps with some math tutoring) and both of my grandmothers were teachers.
What types of students have you worked with?
As math teachers, we have both worked with students at all different levels and abilities, from special education students who struggle with mathematics to gifted students needing assistance with accelerated programs. Students we have tutored include those needing help with specific assignments or problems, those needing ongoing help to get through a class, and students wanting to prepare for an upcoming test such as the ACT or SAT.
