I’m Erica. I graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. In high school, I realized I had a desire to teach after having several experiences working in a Daycare teaching music to the students in violin. I truly have a heart to see students learn. I realize that the classes I excelled in back in High School and College are not related to the subjects that I am desiring to tutor in now, but it is the joy and experience of teaching that I use in my tutoring approach. I am willing to go the extra mile to make sure my students not only learn but excel in the areas I am tutoring them in. I do all I can to make the learning experience pleasurable and comfortable. I use lesson plans based on the students need crafted to help them to learn and excel in the area that they need help in. Afterwards I seek to ensure that my students are comfortable practicing the concepts on their own. My lesson plans and teaching methods are adjusted according to the students’ progress and learning rate.

My teaching experience throughout homeschooling my daughters through 1-5th grade, my time teaching music and now currently teaching in subject areas in my free time such as writing, math, English, algebra, publishing and more, have helped to prepare me with a wide range of experience in working with my students. I am also a Certified Tutor through Varsity Tutors where I am Certified in teaching Adult ESL/ELL, Elementary School English, Math and Reading. I am also a Certified Tutor through SchoolWorld Tutoring where I Certified to teach Pre-Algebra.
