About this tutor

I am a multi-subject tutor. I tutor multiple levels of math and English, as well as test prep.

I love working with students who have challenges- whether diagnosed disabilities or just struggles with specific subjects. I have many strategies and ideas to help all students succeed.

I have a bachelor's degree in English and love to work with middle school, high school, or adult students.

I love being able to get to know my students and their learning styles. With the more intimate one-on-one, I am able to connect with my students an discover things about their lives, not just their learning. Reaching goals with my students is the most rewarding- achieving their test score goal, or raising their grade, or hearing they got into the college of their choice is the best news!

Robin has really gone beyond my expectations!!!! So knowledgeable and patient!!! Always asks if you got it or she needs to slow down. This is SO helpful to my son he can go at his pace rather than the teachers and doesn't feel rushed at ALL!!! Thank you Robin!!!

Robin has been a tremendous help in assisting my son to prepare for the SAT/ACT. She assessed his strengths and weaknesses while walking him through the exam. He has been challenged to "think like the test". She has set realistic goals and provides him with supplemental online resources. She developed a good connection with my son so their study sessions do not seem like work; he looks forward to the challenge. I would recommend Robin to tutor in multiple subjects and various age ranges. She is great!

My son absolutely loves Robin! He just told me that he has the "best tutor ever!" We have tried several tutors with him, and he never "clicked" with anyone before her. Not only does she help him with his work and studying, but she also teaches him strategies to tackle homework and studying on his own. He was just telling me the other day that he was stuck on his homework until he remembered a strategy that she taught him. She is super patient, and we feel so lucky to have found her!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I talk with the student or parent to see what the educational goals are, what struggles the student might have, and then we set up a basic game plan for lessons. I have materials that I have used for years that help me quickly assess a students strengths and weaknesses, and I am constantly tweeking lesson plans to keep the students engaged and interested to help foster their learning.
