Elementary Specialist
About
I am actually in the classroom! I am currently an educator and am cognizant of all the new programs and practices. I have access to all of the platforms the students will see in their own classroom. I have a wide range as I have been an educator for 3 years; 2 years in 2nd grade and 1 in 3rd grade. I am also equipped for higher grades having received a degree in English literature. I am support heavy and am a expert in differentiated instruction.
There are few things more serene than the joy a child possesses. Being around and educating students is one of my greatest joys. Beyond their innocence is the rush of euphoria you get when helping a student. When a student finally gets it, when that bell goes off and they say "Ms. Slaughter I get it!", nothing compares. Not a thing.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first day I like to ask students questions, get a feel how they feel about education and school. I will ask guardians about any accommodations being provided to their child. After getting an emotional read from the students, I need to immediately test them to get their baseline. After their baseline, I can begin to set goals and develop a lesson plan for their individualized needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in Pschology. I am a certified teacher in FL with years experience in the classroom.
