About
My teaching background includes 2 years teaching in Exceptional Student Education on both elementary (SLD Resource) and middle school (SED and EH) levels. I have also worked 1.5 years as an enrichment aftercare teacher for K - 5 students, which included academic instruction. I also have 13 years' experience as a training/instructional manager for a small business, which included training manuals (policy & procedures, duties & responsibilities) I composed and distributed as reference guides to all employees.
I am currently an English/Language Arts tutor, providing instruction on both subject matter and test preparation (ACT, SAT, SSAT, HSPT, ASVAB, and GED). Hours are flexible (day and night, including weekends) and I will make an effort to accommodate each client's schedule and needs.
My rate is $35/hour, with each session being no longer than two hours.
I enjoy helping students improve their academic performances and test scores, along with celebrating their achievements.

Initially, an assessment is based on past test scores determines strengths and area that require attention. Strategies are established for tests, while coursework is prescribed for subject matter tutoring. A timeline is set for goals and progress reviews, then sessions are scheduled based on the student's needs and availability.
