I am a retired English teacher with certification in English, ESE, and ESOL. Since retiring in 2007, I have worked with students of all ages and abilities as a private tutor and with UCP in Broward County high schools. I am also a CollegeBoard trained SAT tutor with many years' experience helping students improave their verbal SAT scores both privately and with a leading test prep company now located out of state. It has been such a pleasure helping students reach their academic goals and be successful.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Each student has a set of goals and challenges combined with experiences. The first thing I do is determine where the student is in relation to these goals and perform a short diagnostic in order to find out what if any issues we need to work around. If the student has had poor grades or performance, I then try to restore the student's confidence in those areas while finding answers to whatever issues the student may have had.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BS in Education from Colorado State University in Pueblo, CO, and an MPA from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Folloring retirement, I taught SAT prep for the Educational Services Center in South Florida for four years and taught study skills to students of varying disabilities for United Cerebral Palsy in this area as well for 6 years. I have also tutored indiidual students privately in test prep, ESOL, all English skills, and writing at all levels during this tme. My students range in age from 56 to 4.
