About

Hello parents and students! My name is Anjali Byju and I am a student at Boston University. I have had a passion for English Language Arts and Literature since the Second grade and have been participating in numerous essay contests and poetry submissions ever since. I have an immense interest in education and aiding students in their academic pursuits is a passion of mine. If you or your child choose to accept my tutelage, you will not be disappointed! I know, firsthand, how stressful it can be when you don't understand what your teacher is rambling about in class or feel as though the homework assigned is in a foreign language. Fear no more, worry no more, stress no more. I am commited to alleviating the anxiety and frustration out of schoolwork and working with you or your child to develop an interest in learning. Whether their goal is to get an A on a test or simply have a deeper understanding of a concept, Summit Academics is here to help. Please don't hesistate to ask me any questions!

Frequently asked questions

At Summit Academics, we believe that every student has the potential to reach their learning goals through persistence, interest, and organization. When working with a new student, getting to know them and their strengths as well as weaknesses is vital. My initial consultation typically involves briefly getting to know each other and then getting right down to business! Some individuals may know exactly what their goals are right off the bat. That's excellent, as I will know where to take it from there. On the other hand, some students may have no clue what their end results will be. That is also totally fine! It's my job to develop an effective and concrete Learning Continuity Plan. This leads me to my next point. After discussing the goals of the student, I can give students and their parents a general idea of what they can expect from me regarding materials, meetings, assignments, and any other concerns they may have. Every subsequent meeting will involve interactive packets and online materials that I have designed for the student. I will also be more than happy to provide instruction through powerpoints and assigned readings if deemed necessary by all parties involved.

After graduating from Florida's top ranked public high school this spring, I have devoted my time and energy into teaching children. For the past two years I have been a camp counselor at Florida Studio Theatre, educating youth on the arts and further inspiring them to develop their creativity and innovativeness. I have also taught English Language Arts at Gocio Elementary School, Fruitville Elementary, and the Gulf Gate Library Tutoring Program to teach elementary schoolers how to read and write. Both of these programs have aided students in passing their FSA's and other state-mandated standardized assesments.

Prices begin at $60 for a 60 minute session. I offer 30 minute initial consultations free of charge.

My love of teaching stemmed from my experience at Mathnasium, a math based tutoring center. I was struggling to comprehend the subjects my fifth-grade math teacher was teaching and consequently, my grades dropped. Reluctantly, I agreed to go to one session at Mathnasium (due to much badgering from my parents). I was a shy, lackadaisical student who lacked confidence in her skills. Much to my surprise, by the end of the consultation I was feeling 100% more self-assured and was eager to come to my next meeting. I continued to go to Mathnasium, eventually working my way up to helping other students at the center. Not only did my grades exponentially increase, so did my belief in myself and my potential. 8 years later, I still have a partiality to teaching and wish more than anything to pay my personal tutoring experience forward.

I have worked with a wide range of scholars. I have tutored underpriveleged youth in my community as well as 4th graders attending my school. Learning is not black or white. Each individual, no matter where they come from, has specialized potential and it is just a matter of resources as to whether or not they excel academically. I am here to provide such resourses, that is a promise.
