I currently teach 4th grade. I am a certified teacher in Florida and have taught for 8 years. I taught kindergarten for 4 years and have taught 4th grade for 4 years. I currently hold a master's degree in curriculum and instruction, focusing on the needs and skill levels of students of ages k-8.
I enjoy helping students understand their mistakes to learn to become independent and successful in the subjects they are struggling in.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It is important to identify areas for growth of students by looking at test scores and speaking with both the student and parent about what improvements they would like to see.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified teacher in the state of Florida with both ESOL and ESE training. I have taught both young students and older students, and have taught all subject areas throughtout those ages.
How did you get started teaching?
I graduated from FIU with a degree in education. Eduation has always been something I enjoy, having a great teacher makes a huge difference in a student's enjoyment and learning. I want to be that teacher for my students.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with kindergarten aged students, focusing on reading and math skills, and have taught all subjects in 4th grade. I have also taught 5th grade math and reading content areas.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Sometimes the content areas are boring, we can only make things so much fun! Make sure the teacher is willing to help until you can understand, a good tutor will make you think but not break down!
