My teaching style is not a one size fits all strategy. I believe that each individual student learns differently and it is my job to find the best ways to tutor each person by getting to know their interests, strength, weaknesses, and more to target their specific learning strategies and goals.
I believe that my experience working with a variety of students also helps me to be able to try a plethora of learning strategies for individual students. I have worked with special needs children, ESOL middle and high school students, International NYU Graduate and Undergraduate students, and elderly people.
I enjoy helping people to improve their skills and confidence in their abilities. Seeing students gain a new understanding of a subject is one of the most rewarding moments for me because it shows that they understood what I was teaching and that our sessions made an impact on them.
It is my priority to make sure my students know that learning is a safe space where they can be comfortable and make mistakes. Once students learn that, I believe that they can make more progress and become a more well-rounded student and person.
More than anything, I love that helping students allows me to deepen my understanding and knowledge through working together and talking about new and innovative ideas that I may not have previously explored in a text, topic, or essay. Tutoring is a great experience for both the tutor and the student.
