About
I stand out as a tutor because my students enjoy their sessions. After each class, I ask the student if it was tedious or inspiring. Fortunately, my students find the path to success a relief from the grind of academics.
I am not only a teacher; I am an accomplished writer, coach and entrepreneur. I was selected to be a member of the graduate program in Communications at UC Berkeley. I have tutored English for over a decade. Owner of a fifteen employee regional communications firm, I worked with such accounts as Twentieth Century Fox, Gatorade and Cleveland Clinic. Through tenacity and great staff, I sold the firm for a healthy profit. I am an English teacher, a certified college counselor, ESL teacher, and life coach.
I know a cliche, but I am passionate about teaching because I learn from my students every day.
I enjoy most the self-confidence that my students have when they complete their tutoring sessions.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I have a complimentary "get acquainted session". We talk about personal, professional/academic goals and interests. Also discussed is the objective of the tutoring and if I am the right fit.
I then submit a work plan for the students approval. We follow the plan throughout the sessions and it stands as a barometer for our progress.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was accepted into the esteemed UC Berkeley graduate program in writing and communications. I have worked for a decade as a tutor and am certified as an English teacher. I also hold certifications as follows: ESL teacher, Proofreader/Copy Editor, Resume Writer, and Spelling/Writing teacher.
I held a senior level position as the Marketing Director of a 1500 bed trauma hospital and owned a successful regional communications firm.
