Ilissa creates individual lesson plans to accommodate my son learning style. She reviews assignments and provides clear and concise explanations.
For example Ilissa engages him through playful learning activities such as the PopCorn Game, Gold Fish, I Spy etc
Ilissa is also a patience and caring individual. My child sometimes can be challenging. Whenever he throws a fit, Ilissa redirects him with positive reinforcement and feedback. For example shell tell him, If you complete your writing, you will be allowed to play outside for 10 minutes. Ilissa also praises him for his efforts and achievements.
Overall I believe Ilissa is a great tutor. I highly recommend her.
She has helped my child increase his confidences and desire to succeed.

I try to get to know the student and find out the best ways that they learn. I find our their interests so that I can try to incorporate their interests onto our lessons.

I have been a teacher and tutor for over 36 years.
