Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always like to get to know my students a bit before working with them: what do they excel at, what subjects do they enjoy most, and which do they feel they need some extra support in. Then, I will come up with a personalized plan to target the students needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a masters in childhood education from CUNY Hunter College in Manhattan. I have been a classroom teacher for the past ten years in both Manhattan and Palm Beach County in both public and private schools. I have also been tutoring students for ten years, ranging in ages from 3 to 14.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically charge $70/hour but am open to negotiations.
How did you get started teaching?
I always knew I wanted to be a teacher because I love working with kids and helping them learn. I have always been passionate about reading and teaching students not only how to read, but how to be critical thinkers when they are reading.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ranging from 3 years old (pre-k) to 14 years old.
