About
I am a former English teacher with a passion for helping students learn. I started privately tutoring students in 2018 after the birth of my first child, but I have worked with Lake County Schools since 2016. I am a University of Florida graduate with a bachelor's degree in Anthropology. I specialize in one on one sessions reinforcing fundamental reading skills to Pre-K through 5th grade students and English Language Arts skills to 6th-8th grade students. I believe every child has the potential to be successful and that it is never too early to help a student grow!
I love seeing the progress students make! Nothing is more rewarding and inspiring than helping someone achieve their goals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My tutoring philosophy is completely student driven. After an assessment of the student's needs, I will either reinforce what is already happening in the classroom by assisting with essay writing/homework or I will design engaging activities to help the student in areas of need. I am a very hands-on tutor and will do whatever it takes to make my students feel comfortable. That can mean alaphabet hopscotch in the driveway all the way to essay editing on the living room floor.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University of Florida. I have worked with little ones in daycare all the way through 11th grade. I was an English teacher at Tavares High School from fall 2017 to fall 2018 until my daughter was born and I decided to stay home with her.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $30 per hour for one on one sessions. If there are multiple students per session then that rate is subject to change.
How did you get started teaching?
Since I was little, I have had a passion for helping others. In high school, I got my first taste of tutoring. My math teacher asked me to help out a few of his students that were struggling, and it blossomed from there!
I became a high school teacher to make a difference in peoples' lives, but after my daughter was born in 2018, I realized I wanted to spend more time with her. A few months after she was born, I took on my first tutoring student! Tutoring has allowed me to continue my passion of helping students achieve their goals while also spending time with my daughter.
What types of students have you worked with?
As a high school English teacher I worked with students of all backgrounds and capabilities - from special needs to gifted students.
During my time as a daycare teacher, I worked with children ages 1-5.
As a tutor, I am happy to work with any age and any need.
