About
My name is Professor Millie Stoff. I have almost 25+years of experience in teaching English grammar, writing, and reading to adult and college students. In addition, I have a Master’s Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and I am a Florida certified teacher in TESOL K-12.
My main goal when tutoring is to make sessions relaxed and enjoyable. I work hard at allowing my tutoring sessions to be interactive and student-centered. By modeling for the students how to learn and use concepts, I allow my students to master the acquisition of new skills. Most importantly, I meet my students where they are academically and patiently help them to reach their goals.
I am able and ready to help you improve your writing, grammar, speech, or reading skills. This includes getting you ready for college or preparing you for the English part of any Standardized Tests.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always start by giving my students an informal evaluation and identifying their skills' levels in the areas they want to improve. Then I help my students set benchmarks and goals for their tutoring experience.
Once the tutoring sessions start, my goal is to make my students feel motivated, relaxed, and ultimately successful. I work hard on making our time together interesting, interactive, and student-centered. In addition, by breaking down concepts into small units, my students obtain new skills at their own speed and manner.
I am ready to help you on your journey to efficiently speak, write, or read the English language.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 25 years of experience and have worked with students of all ages and levels. However, the majority of my experience has been equiping college bound students with reading, writing and grammatical skills as a tenured Assitant Professor for Miami Dade College. Last but not least, I had the priviliage to work overseas teaching English at the American School in Caraca, Venezuela.
Finally, I worked for Kaplan's Online Writing Center for over ten years as a tutor and Writing Specialist. During this time, I authored mutiple tutorials and was a contributing author for Kaplan's Writing Handbook.
