I have experience working with students in grades 1-5 in all subject areas. I can help you with one specific subject or provide help in a variety of areas. I have over 20 years of teaching experience, including teacher summer school each year.
One reason I love teaching is when I can help a student reach that "light bulb moment", when a confusing skill or topic suddenly makes sense. I would love to do that for you!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I would have a lengthy discussion with the student's caregivers to find out the areas of need. If possible I would contact the student's teacher(s) to get an even more precise idea. Then I would have a discussion with the student about what it is they find challenging about school. I would then determine a starting point based on the infomration and/or some assessments.
