About
I enjoy the process of teaching math. It is rewarding, and I have spent the better part of my life doing math.
I'm currently studying Electrical Engineering, and teaching introductory circuits courses. I'm required to have a strong understanding of differential equations to be good at this job, so I try to stay 'in calculus shape' to make sure I can do that job well.
Most of all, I enjoy the "A-ha Moment". It's rewarding when students understand a complex topic. This is why I am pursuing a doctorate, to eventually teach.
I studied at Colorado School of Mines and worked under Dr. Kristine Callan. She runs the entire physics 101 program at CSM. Her cutting edge research in pedagogy is largely responsible for keeping the rigor of Colorado School of Mines. While her teaching assistant, I learned many techniques for approaching and reframing problems in order to increase understanding of the course content.
I really enjoy looking at problems from a different point of view, which helps in my teaching endeavors.
