I would like to help students ages K-12, I understand the difficulties of being a learner who doesn't fit to the standard ways of teaching. Especially with the new way of life being primarily self taught or online course work.
I struggled as a student in high school in college until I found ways to learn that worked for me. I understand that there isn't a great way to categorize anyone's brain and that in order to learn there needs to be a drive. I love helping students find a framework that makes the subject they're studying feel interesting to them, and then seeing their success.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I'd like to discuss what their interests are via e-meeting so that we can discover what helps them learn the best. Sometimes its a simple as breaking down into bite size chunks and sometimes its more complex and different parts of different subjects need more time. I think the most important thing is to be available to the students own pace.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a college student. I was military prior to my college experience and I had the opportunity to work with many people from many backgrounds who all required basic medical training to keep themselves safe. I learned a lot about different types of learning and that presenting the material I taught in multiple formats created the most objective friendly space for learning. I think the same can be done with any subject and its as easy as giving one on one attention to students who need a different type of presentation.

I prefer to let students and their parents let me know what works for them.
How did you get started teaching?
This is my first independent teaching endeavor but I spent a lot of time in the military creating coursework for medics and non medical personnel that would achieve learning objectives for the highest number of people in the least amount of time. This made me really love the challenge of making sure my material reached each and every student in the way that worked best for them.
What types of students have you worked with?
Primarily adult students, although I have worked independently with family friends with children ages three plus. I find working with children rewarding and that I have the patience required to let children learn their way.
