We have excellent communicators who are able to relate the material on different levels. Our goal is to help students excel, not just pass the class. We ensure complete comprehension before moving into a different topic.
While my knowledge and training spans the PK-12 Math Curriculum, my greatest assets come from a classroom history of teaching students with unique learning needs. I know that if don't have buy-in, I don't have a lesson. So I focus first on relationship, which builds motivation and also helps me to more clearly identify a student's strengths, and what barriers are hindering their progress. Math is an abstract language, so I believe students need visual and language supports to "translate" its meaning. My current Florida teaching certifications include Secodary Mathematics (Grades 5-12), Autism Spectrum Disorders, Elementary Education (K-6)

Student-oriented focus - I meet the student where they are and we work with the student and their current level of understanding.
Outstanding explanation of concepts and skills - There are about 4 or 5 ways that you could solve every single math problem. I am usually good to give them the different ways until we find one that "sticks" witht he student.
In the online environment, I use "their problems" when working with a student and I am marking up their work virtually. No more searching for problems on the internet that "kinda seem like my problem" or wasting time teaching yourself concepts.

I have tutored students for the past 35 years from Grades 5 to 12 in math English and science subjects. I have found that Algebra is a subject that most students have difficulty with and I have specialized. It is what I call virtual MATH. I CAN help you. Don't be put off by my low rate. I am retired and enjoy tutoring . Most student difficulties come from a lack in understanding the basics in the subject. I try to find a starting point to build from there. And remember the first 1 hour lesson is FREE - so what do you have to lose? You evaluate me on my time.

Here at the School of Eglinton we allow children to utilize their full potential. We make sure that a child understands they are more than just a data point on a spreadsheet. Intelligence cannot be measured by a standardized test. Imagine a school year where you only learn how to take 1-3 high stakes test at the end of the year. All the while you are given subtests on material you should have mastered in 3-5 days. The school districts have pacing guides, these guides tell the teachers what to teach, how to teach it, and how long to teach it for. There is no more chance for creativity. There's no time, the test is coming and every instructi
