About
As a teacher, I’ve been lucky enough to have taught both math and Chinese to K-12 students. Although teaching two different subjects to such a wide age group was at times difficult, this challenge was right up my alley. I specialized in secondary mathematics instruction for my Master's Degree at the USC Rossier School of Education, and Chinese is my BA degree and my native language.
As a tutor, I expect my students to work hard and be dedicated. I believe that no subject is too difficult as long enough effort is put in. I only have a few students at a time, and most tend to stick around for quite a while. I’m always sad when they leave for college, but even then, they call me from time to time for help!
The beauty of learning 1 on 1 is that the student is able to set the pace of the lessons. As a teacher and a tutor, I have learned to be flexible and creative with my lessons to support my students' learning styles, and I welcome the opportunity to help guide future students' educational journeys as well.
