Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Usually, I allow the new student to create interest in my personality and the subject I want to teach. What I normally do initially is to have heart of a psychologist - ability to listen to the student without speaking for long periods of time and understand what the speaker is saying.
I don't assume my student. I start to solve mathematical problems from simple to complex analysis.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received teacher training education as a grade two teacher, grade one teacher (National Certificate in Education) with first degree in Economics/Education - Teaching Professional Training. After all these professional training I proceeded for Masters of Science, Doctor of Science in Econometrics. All the courses offered are Statistics, Mathematics and Quantitative Techniques.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing system depends on the level of students I want to teach and the lenght of periods ( i.e hours of teaching). Normally I put consideration to ''economics of large scale production'' in which case the higher the number of student the lower will be the charges.
In the case of single individual, the level and the number of hour(s) would determine the pricing system.
Ofcourse, the pricing is quite low so as to encourage the student. What really matter is the knowledge acquisition.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching as far back as 1980 immediately I finished my grade II teacher training and there is no break in teaching service since then till date.
Today I have reached the pick of my professional career as a Professor of Econometrics in West Coast University. And now Professor of Economics in Financial Econometrics at KISREAD Institute of Science and Research Los Angeles California.
What types of students have you worked with?
By the grace of God, I have worked with students at all the levels of education: Kindergarten (K); Elementary School (ES); Junior High School (JHS); Senior High School (HS); Undergraduate Education (UG); Post-baccalaureate Education (P); Graduate Education (G); Doctoral Education (D) and Professional Training(PT) - Accounting and Management Students alike. All spinning thirty six years of teaching experience.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Outstanding Intellectual of the 21st century awarded by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, United Kingdom in recognition of outstanding performance for the award of Post-Doctoral degree of Science in Econometrics by the West Coast University Panama, Central America. February, 2014
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The Students should create interest in the subject.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Is my request a relevant one or not?
Are there other approaches to solving a particular mathematics problem?
