I am an educator with experience teaching neurotypical and neurodiverse students from preschool all the way to high school. I earned my undergraduate degree from UCSD in Cognitive Neuroscience. Afterwards, I earned my masters degree in Special Education with an emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis. Working directly with children who fall within the Autism Spectrum Disorder has taught me patience and compassion, qualities necessary in working with all students. I enjoy supporting students through the implementation of differentiation, expanding their access to resources, and tending to every learner while instilling a love of learning. Please

Fun fact: I can recite every line of the movie The Princess Bride! Hi, I'm Sylvia, and I love working with students. The most rewarding part of tutoring for me is when a new concept “clicks” with a student - their excitement is contagious, and it’s a privilege to be able to help them reach that point! On a more personal level, I am a friendly, outdoorsy, athletic, and talkative type of person! I partner with students on a one-on-one basis in STEM subjects through SoFlo Tutors, my tutoring agency. I studied Economics at the University of St. Andrews and have been tutoring for 2 years. At SoFlo, we know that Math and Science tend to build on t

When I tutor, I try to give curriculum materials that support the child's needs, but also help them to advance in school by aligning to the school's challenging material or supporting the level of struggle that some grade levels carry in Common Core subjects. I am a long term tutor 3 months to longer. I work to help students see growth in all their hard work practiced & expressed over time. I love to help students see school to be engaging by using materials that help them develop interest in school subjects....

I have been tutoring since I started my undergraduate physics degree in 2016. I am currently studying physics as a PhD student and have extensive knowledge in math and physics as well as some experience in computer science. I feel that every student is capable, often what is missing is individualized instruction in a way that makes sense to them. My favorite part of tutoring and teaching is seeing the student understand a new subject. The joy of learning something new is amazing....

My daughter had to write a pre-algebra test in a few days and I was concerned she was struggling. I contacted SoFlo online, expressed my concern and in spite of the tight schedule they moved things around to accommodate my daughter. I witnessed the session and it’s the best thing since sliced bread. I love the teaching method, and that my daughter was offered multiple methods to solve the same problem. I recommend SoFlo highly!

Grade Potential Tutoring is a fantastic resource for academic support and mentoring. I've been using their services for about five years, first for my daughter and now for my son. We worked with several tutors and we loved every single one of them! Particularly Kurt, who helped my daughter with her creative writing, and now Douglas, who works with my 6 year old son that counts the minutes to his next meeting with his tutor! The tutors are excellent and results are there to prove it! Moreover, I love the fact that the our you purchase are associated to your account and not to a particular student and never expire; so, theoretically, you can use them for your son in elementary school and use what's left for when he'll be enrolled in a Ph.D. program! :-)

Asking for help sometimes can be difficult. I was welcomed with open arms to Kristina's tutoring services. No question I asked was a stupid question. For problems that I needed extra help with she was able to explain it to me as many times as necessary, even up to five times, with zero frustration and complete consideration of the difficulties I was having. Kristina was able to assist me with college-level General Chemistry, particularly in fine-tuning my problem solving and test taking skills to get those simple extra points! Learning can be easy with a great teacher. She makes it very easy for video chatting tutoring and is very understandable of your schedule. Bottom line, tutoring doesn't get any better than this!

Amazing! I was really struggling with both the mathematics section of the SAT and PCAT. Knowledge tutoring helped identify my weaknesses, and focus my time and energy in solving those types of problems - fast and efficiently. The strategy and approach is important to master, and those are the key takeaways I learned. Additionally, you want to work with someone that cares as much as you do. You need someone that is committed, energetic, and willing to put forth the time and energy to help you when you need assistance. Great tutor - would highly recommend!

What I loved about working with Luis was that he was really good at explaining how to solve a problem which would lead me to understand similar problems. He has a deep understanding of math, he would answer any questions I had without a problem. Another thing that was really helpful was his neat writing allowing me to be able to understand every step of the solution without getting confused. Overall Luis is an excellent tutor, if I had the chance I would definitely get tutored by him again.
